Tara Etemad-Haary, M.A., AMFT #141224
Associate Marriage & Family Therapist
I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#141224) with a background working with adults and teens struggling with addiction, developmental/complex trauma, and personality disorders. I am a UCI and Chapman alum who has worked in the mental health field in various roles over the past 9 years. While obtaining my masters, I worked with individuals, families, and couples along with teens in residential treatment. These sites gave me extensive experience working with those who struggle with addiction, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, narcissism, borderline, and interpersonal trauma.
My aim is to help clients discover the lost parts of themselves, find safety, and build meaningful connections. I work from a trauma informed, emotion focused, and integrative psychodynamic lens to process the deepest parts of their world. I strive to create a genuine and nonjudgmental space for clients to step into their power. Through this process, clients can show themselves empathy, increase self-awareness, lower their inner-critic, and reconnect with their authentic selves.
